Barclay Engineering – Genset Soundproof Enclosure

Barclay Engineering wanted to take their drafting office from 2D AutoCAD to 3D SolidWorks, so MAKO Engineering (now Quadro Design) was asked to do an entire Diesel Genset Soundproof Enclosure in SolidWorks. The main purpose of this exercise was to allow Barclay to determine the feasibility of making the transition from 2D to 3D.

A full set of arrangement & fabrication drawings were produced, including all of the sheet metal cutting and bending details, in SolidWorks. Utilising SolidWorks allowed Barclay to produce drawings with a level of detail they had not experienced previously. The success of this demonstration resulted in Barclay Engineering making the transition from 2D to 3D.
